Sotkamo/Katerma - Oulanka national park - "Don't go there"

Post by EbonicUnicorn » Thu Aug 09, 2018 10:36 am

Hey there,

we're planning an extended weekend type of a ride come fall with BMW R1200GSAs, and I'm interested if there are any "don't go there with heavy dual sport bikes" sections between Sotkamo and Oulanka NP on the official TET track. To me it looks like it's really straight forward with suprising amount of asphalt, too much maybe.

We'll be riding the TET-Finland only partially, between Sotkamo and Oulanka national park before turning back west.

Any suggestions, reviews, whatnot regarding the said portion greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Hi
I have riden the section not long ago and you should be fine with your bike in my opinion. Roads are normal gravel forest roads that you drive on.
