Challenging Sections - UK

Post by Redballrun » Fri Nov 10, 2017 1:57 pm

Whilst the TET is aimed at the average rider on a 250-700 trail bike travelling with light luggage, there will be those keen to know in advance sections that are more challenging and why. They can then make their minds up whether to route round them or give them a go.

Your contributions are welcome!

Please contribute in this fashion (and put bravado and glory aside):

Name of section(If known):
Start of section: Latitude and Longitude
End of section: Latitude and Longitude
Nature of Challenge:
Notes (ie bike used, experience level, issues with rerouting, mobile reception etc):

Name of section(If known): Breast High, Cumbria
Start of section: 54.425222,-2.690395
End of section: 54.437753,-2.656031
Nature of Challenge:
Ford and rocky mountain pass
Notes (ie bike used, experience level, issues with rerouting, mobile reception etc): Initial easy trail down to river where there is a ford. Rocky base with deep hole at far side. If water is over stepping stones this indicates real depth. After ford rocky ascent to pass. Descent to Bletherdale is steep and large loose rocks. There is an concrete drainage peipe on the descent which creates a step. Easier from west to east. Challenging even without luggage and trickeir if wet. Heavier bikes and inexperienced riders may struggle. Not one to tackle alone. Alternative detour is to follow A6 north to join B6261 then southeast to Orton
