Riding TET Portugal (Southwest part)

Post by José Carlos » Fri Mar 02, 2018 3:32 pm

Hi there !

Anyone did the tracks between Monchique and Cercal recently ? Any special concerns for bigger bikes ?

I can see from Google Earth that there are some river crossings and that some parts have a big slope, both going up or down ! :-((

I'm planning to do a 2 days ride starting and finishing in the Lisbon area and sleeping in Monchique and will be using some TET tracks.
I wonder if with this last rains some rivers can be too big to cross and ig there is too much mud for a big trail (no mine, fortunately) !

Thank you in advance for any help

Hi!

I haven't been down south for some time and can't honestly say what to expect. Last time I did them the trails I was riding a KTM 950 with no issues but after these last rains I don't know what you might expect.

A ride report is a nice way of helping others too and, to see great pics :D

Staying tuned... Boa viagem!

I'd love to hear an update on the route! I'm going in April, F800GS, so big bike as well.

We didn't make it ! The weather was a nightmare on that weekend. I might be doing that ride later in April ;)

Oof, that's too bad. Good luck later in April. I leave for Malaga on Wednesday and will probably ride the ACT up north and maybe a bit of TET from Gibraltar to Portugal.
