Post by BadAssMoto » Sat Jan 20, 2018 2:27 pm

Hi everybody!
I'm planing to come with small group of riders to Porto
We planing to do all TET track in PT plus some extras (Penniche or Nazare)

I'm not sure about weather in PT in April, so can you suggest me what options I will have

If it will be raining in north we are thinking to start from Porto drive to Fara ans start climbing to go back to Porto (flight back)

Motorcycles:
Husqvarna 701
BMW F800gs (offroad version)
Suzuki Dr650SE

Hi!

Not an easy answer... Usually April is a very wet month though it's not unheard of beaches being crowded in some years! It's basically a lottery.

Be prepared, bring weatherproof gear and get ready for soggy days. Better safe than sorry... If it's raining it's a 2h road ride from Porto to the nearest TET point.

Cheers

Thanks a lot

I'm mostly riiding on Mitas E09 rear, Scorpion Rally / Michelin Desert front as for ADV trip
If i'm going to harder terrain on rear I'm mostly having Mitas C02 - aggressive knobbies

Can you describe me What can I expect on trail?

I'm loving to rind in muddy contidions (Romania, Ukraine) rocky (Albania, Marocco+sand&hamada), mix (Macedonia) etc

Are all paths are open to public or it's a lot of private closed raods?

Best Regards!

Hi!

Expect to find all conditions! Northern part of the TET will give you a lot of rocky trails and some mud, going southwards mud will get more difficult and you'll be greeted by sandy trails. This, if there is some rain on the days before, otherwise it's mostly hard packed surfaces.

There are some private lands but it's mostly - by a huge ratio - open public gravel roads. Mind you, there will be a route revision in the coming days/weeks due to small detours and closed gates.

Hey! I'm actually planning to ride parts of the TET Portugal in April too. Perhaps we can ride some parts together? I ship my bike through Malaga, I'll pick it up on 11 April and have until April 25. So I'm actually attacking the route from the south.

Hi
We are planing to start from North (from Porto) than to South along TET trail
If weather will be not nice for us (rain etc) we will change route. In this case we will go along the ocean to South maybe to Faro area and than we will start riding North

Till 13th of April I cant say a lot about out route.

If we can meet on trial specially for night camping with fire place would be great.

Hello guys
I am also able to join the group but possibly only from the center / south of the country. I still do not know if I'm going to be in Portugal (because of work) but if I'm around I'll be happy to go with you

I'll be with group between 13th till 22nd of April
Start and Finish in Porto (flights)

A t the moment I can't say anything about trip, except that we want to cover as much as possible of TET route
If will be raining up north, we will ride south and start from there.

My group will be 9 bike - but most likly we will split on the way
We are offroad maniacs
4* Husqvarna 701
1*Dr600
1* XT660
1*F800gs (offroad edition)
1*KTM 1190
1* TransAlp (local)

Every second or third night we will look for rooms/house/hotel to rent just to take a shower, charge wash.
Tents and fire place would be the best
