Ride report 2 March 2019

Post by georgeboot » Sat Mar 02, 2019 7:27 pm

Together with 2 friends we did most of the northern section today. The weather was a bit dry so had lots of sand roads; always a challenge on our big 1200’s Image

During the ride, we experienced two sections were the land owners indicated that the road was closed and trespassing was not allowed. In both cases, the road had been closed for a few months and multiple riders were warned and asked to inform the organisers. It seems that until now, no one has done so. They also indicated that riders rode way too fast and dangerous, something that is not desirable.

The first section is a piece of farmers trail. The farmer indicated that there is poor visibility and in multiple occasions, riders did not see an upcoming agricultural vehicle and scared the driver.

Location: 32 U 334900E 5784747N

The second location is a farm with dogs that like to chase motorcycles that pass by. They also have children on the farm and are fed up with the speeding motorcycles. Also, their dog like to bite.

Location: 32 U 347359E 5800531N (Diepegoorseweg, close to Borne)

Attached my trip log including the detour we rode for the second location, which is actually a nice section.

At the first one we were allowed to continue after we had a nice chat in which we were able to comfort the land owner.

I'd like to share a track from ViewRanger: http://my.viewranger.com/track/details/OTg2NjU3NQ==

Diepegoorseweg is a public road and his dogs should be secured.

Black is route, purple is us.

Perhaps this is only the initial section of the road we skipped, but there is a clear sign at the location we turned around.

One or two people mentioned this to me but I'm sorry to admit it got on the "to do" list and that never happened.
