Rideable sections in South Netherlands

Hi,
Sorry if this is not the correct place to ask but I can only find available the GPX for the "escape route" to the Ferry terminal. The main route that I can see on spotwalla.com (Witrijt to Bellingwolde) is not on the GPX. Perhaps I made a mistake in loading the GPX but I tried several times.
The GPX I have is "TET-NETHERLANDS-Liaison to ferry". Maybe the other GPX is not available currently due to updates?
Thanks in advance for any advice. I was hoping to ride a small section on December 18th or December 23rd.

Hello,

I just tried this, Downloaded the GPX file from the TransEuroTrail website, saved it to my desktop and then opened it in first in Basecamp and the whole track was visible to me.
I then opened it in Mapsource and there the whole track was visible too.
Which program did you use ?
Cheers, Ard

Hi Ard,

I am very sorry. I used ViewRanger.com to open the file and was shown only the Liason to Ferry Track.
I then examined the GPX file and can see clearly there are three distinct tracks. When I split the GPX file into three separate files containing only one <trk> stanza, then I was able to see the route by opening each file individually.

So it seems viewranger.com has a limitation on one track per GPX file (or perhaps I am using it incorrectly). I have emailed viewranger.com support with this question.

Many apologies; if it's useful I can send you the three separate files I created but it was a trivial task to split them as I'm sure you are aware.
Jon

Hi Jon, There's a most helpful section on navigational problems here: viewforum.php?f=17

Thanks Ard. I have received a response from Viewranger support confirming the web version can only open one track per GPX and posted the Viewranger limitation to the thread you suggested.

Regarding the track, do you think it's possible to ride some southern sections at this time of year without finding a lot of mud (surface is compacted ground / gravel easy for beginner on a big bike)? I'm expecting it can likely be very wet and muddy in most places but I thought I would ask just in case some sections are notably much easier going.

Many thanks

I'm sorry but I can't advise on which sections are likely to have mud and which don't.
When finding what looks like deep mud, you best turn around and find a different route. If you are on your own and you get stuck, you got problems.
