Wild camping

Post by yo1lka » Thu May 10, 2018 7:58 pm

Hello TETters!
Soon we are starting our Slovenia - Croatia TET with a lot of deviations in mind from the route. We are coming there from the direction of Austria then head down till the middle of Croatia and then we will turn back. The official campings I have found so far are not very appealing.
What were your experiences with wild camping in Croatia?

That’s different and when you ask me what I would do....place my tent wherever I am and on the nicest place...but I even respect nature and surrounding ImageImageImage

All the others following you on the TET will be grateful if you pay attention to the rules. So many nice places have be shut down forever, just because of "cool" people trampling on the rules. My 2 ct.

Yo1lka,

Like it's stated on the country page and then linked by hokhub (thanks), it's illegal, but it's tolerated.

Meaning do not act like an a** h**e and do not litter, lite camp fires or disturbing local people.

We do have loads of issues with people in rv's because we do not have camping stop network built (working on it at the moment) so locals do not like rv folks parking all around and living litter or emptying their toilets around.

You're getting my point right?

Cheers

Hi,
after I saw a bear plus 2 baby bears on the gravel road (30m in front of me) I might prefer public camping, take a hot shower and have beer instead of bear ;-)

I'm quite educated on how to leave as less footprint as possible, so this is not the concern.
Alright folks, thanks for the opinions! Happy riding everyone!
