Phone Companies (SIM cards)

Post by Team MandM » Wed Mar 14, 2018 7:51 am

Hello from Norway. Inside Eu we use our Norwegian phone company. But outside we see that the cost for internet and even phone calls er high (roaming). A overview of recommended companies would be great.

In Norway we have:
Telia and Telenor that are the main companies and good coverage.

When in Ukraine, buy pre-paid Vodafone sim.
Internet is cheap (around 0.5€ per 500mb), calling outside of Ukraine is also dirt cheap comparing to European prices. SIM card packages are available nearly in all shops and do not require any ID or private information, activating takes few minutes just calling a random phone, setup of card and other services can be done on English, same as communication with operator

Don't worry folks, he ate the card that it's counted in but spat out the SIM itself! :)

for TET France and then also abroad phone company free.fr seems to be a good option.
They have machines in kiosks all over the country where you can buy a sim card with your credit card (french speaking website and machines only!!)
29,95 € gives you 100GB inside France or 25 GB outside France of data plus free calling and SMS to a lot of countries thruout the world for one month (Attention: Andorra is not included!!).

If you need more info on this give me a message.

I found this info by chance on two different swiss/german travellers webpages myself. Will test it in April 2019 in France and keep you posted here how it works. Then will test it as well in June 2019 on my TET trip thru Finnland and Sweden/Norway.

I use Lebara, it's really cheap in the EU - not Andorra - but beware that it's expensive in your 'home' country.
