From Mongolia to TET

Due to a problem in Mongolia I had to leave it and my plans changed completely: no more BAM and Magadan. As I had time but not much money, I went back all the way through Russia with the intention to ride the TET from Piter down to Romania.
Plans changed due to family problem (I have the need of being back in Switzerland by the 20th of September). Just before Piter I had an highsider at 100km/h. Lost more time in Russia, but at least the women now how to heal a man.
So I found myself now in rushing the TET, which is nice, the road is always what I want the most.

Pictures will follow!

Leaving Piter has been a pleasure: seeing the Hermitage kissed by the morning sun is spectacular. I took the highway bridges around the city but it was foggy, no view at all then. On the road along the Finnish gulf there is a check point: only locals allowed, tourists have to follow the main inland road. The military friendly shouted so many times пограничная зона and I tried to convince him I'm Russian by the fact I was wearing a Горка анорак and У меня есть тельняшки!
It didn't work, Russia is not the same anymore. #шутка
Border with Estonia: finally a fast border in Russia, in 10 minutes I was done. Some soviet tits of the customs got angry as I was skipping the line of trucks. A smile and she was happy as if she had seen Putin.

Estonia, back to Europe, back to civilization #шутка
I started following the Trans Euro Trail, a big trail along the whole Europe with the focus on Transvestites. Very easy and kind of boring (for me, I'm saturated with 500 kilometres and more of dirt roads or no roads!) here as the road is a patchwork of short dirt roads. But, if younare a beginner, this might be a great start for you.
Estonia looks amazing, so green and similar to Switzerland. I can feel I'm getting closer to home!

English, everyone bloody speaks English here. The funny hands gesture part of the trip comes to an end. Near Latvia the Estonian TET got more interesting and in Latvia, it's really nice ride! Perfect for big bikes and with some challenging parts. With mud it would have been a lot more difficult! 26° C, Global warming is happening!
I met some Finnish people following the TET, the outside of the world trip is over. Near Riga the road got sandy and the MT21 rallycross showed their best. The track left the dirt road and I got there exactly when an couple riding a cow (gs1200) stopped there. Couldn't stop near them and I ended in the sand. I thought, fuck it, full throttle, and #Darude started mixing #sandstorm while the cow most likely got suffocated by the sand. Then I met a local trying the new Husqvarna 701, a crazy light machine. Talked a little bit and he told me that I was 2.5 hours away from Riga, it was 15.00, I needed to hurry! He told me to skip the final part in case, 20 km in a sandy track through woods. He told me that also on gravel it wasn't possible to go fast. Then I thought: He might be a Fermone!
I was right, after 1 hour e few minutes on the track I was in Riga searching for a bed. Found it in a backpacker hostel as the motorbike hostel (The husqy guy suggested me it), owed by the Linesman, was full.
Did huge maintenance on the Beast, took care of all small bits so that tomorrow I can ride the rest of TET and reach maybe Lithuania. Braaap! Gas a martello!

Huge thanks to the Estonian Linesman. I know how in high density modern areas it is hard to have a gravel route, he did a good job!

Thanks to the Latvian Linesman, the people at the hostel helped me a lot and I could leave them more than 10 kg of stuff (many spares not necessary im this part of the world and jeans&shoes I had bought for the sexy way back through Russia, useless now as I just want to ride....the motorbike! Flip flops fuck the way!).
They will ship the stuff to mine, very kind from them.

To make it clear: I'm going at high pace but I'm not raiding through the track like a criminal, just less stops and a lot of time on the bike everyday!

Currently in Riga, back to touristic places. Crazy full of tourists and schools in visit, not my place at all! Leaving tomorrow Morning!

Cheers!

Hey there, I am the husky guy. Usually just lurking there, but your post got me registered.

From the point I met you, if you take the most direct route (Murjani-Riga highway, 95% tarmac), it takes 1 hour to the city center, or 30 minutes to get the the city border, assuming you are not going to much over the speed limit. Let's say 110-120 (20-30km over the speed limit). So, if you got to Riga in 1 hour by TET track: 1) You should go for Dakar, you'll win; 2) You should check TET Code of Conduct. As for going on gravel, or skipping the last part of TET (which is more like 5km, than 20), let's write it off on behalf of "bad english"on my part.

Heey! I saw you Saturday arriving at the small ferry boat in Ligatne. I was one of those 18 enduro bikers, who left the ferry boat place.

Hello!
Thanks again for the tips, I would gave struggled finding a place in Riga!
1) Not at all, I go according to my view range, not with full throttle and hope (as it is necessary for rscing)
2) I know it and respect it.
I was talking about the border of the city.
I might have a different TET as I made the track for fitting in the GPSMAP60csx more than a month ago in Novosibirsk. Like this Morning after the airport there were two passages with barrier.
As long there are no signs or it clearly goes off-road I'm not worried.

Currently in Kolka, it took me 3 hours 45 mins to get here, never left the seat or pegs for all the time.
Beautiful part from Riga to here!

That was a huge group! Was it a KTM meeting?

Just a Saturday's ride, with a different big enduro bikes. Used some TET sections and other local small forest roads.
