Tetty's Travels on the TET - a young bear goes wandering

Post by Redballrun » Sat Feb 17, 2018 3:25 pm

On the 3rd March 2018 a young bear will start an epic adventure. Depending on the goodness of TET Riders he will travel the length and breadth of the TET posting tales of his experiences and pictures of his travels. Who knows how long he will be on the road for? Who knows what adventures he will have? Castles, deserts, vineyards, mountain tops and beaches all await him.

His grandmother has asked us to post a few guidelines to help him on his travels:

1. Don't spoil him - his adventures should be limited to the TET so no scuba diving on the Great Barrier Reef, meditating in Indian ashrams or doing deals in Moroccan soukhs!

2. He hates flying and confined spaces so needs to be handed from one TET rider to another and not posted

3. He gets bored easily and tires of limited company so please pass his care on to another TET rider regularly rather than having him sit at home watching TV.

4. He's a selfish narcissistic bear so photos in the thread should always feature him

5. Please post a photo of him changing from one TET rider to the next.

6. Tell us which part of the TET he has covered and how many kilometres.

I'm in central Sussex. can take him on boat to Bilbao from Portsmouth on 18th April, then I'm doing all of Spanish/Portuguese TET, and french north to south (not east to west) . then doing Newhaven to hassocks. can do all of that or just some if another rider wants to take up the mantle along the way :)

You could hand him over to me at or near la Pobla de Segur in the Pyrenees - Spain TET - and I'll ride over to France in early May and/or hand him over to a couple riding the full Spain/Portugal TET.

EDIT: it looks like you will already have done Spain Portugal and be on your way back! Are you heading all of the Spanish TET, i.e. east to and beyond Andorra, before heading off north? In which case I'll 'TETTY-sit' until someone collects him heading east. :)

I promise to keep him safe from our own cuddly toy!

That is unless someone gets there beforehand to 'rescue' him, but if not while he's waiting I'll fetch up Mrs S's own Ted - of 1956 vintage! - from his retirement home down on the Meditattarian for some essential 'paternal' advice! :P

If TETTY take a detour into Kiev on the Ukraine leg he could join this little chap - near to the favour Golden Gate monument, which os pretty much all that survives from the medieval walls of that great city!

Tetty tells me he is a great fan of Brownian motion and chance rather than preplanned excursions. He's been talking about swapping rides if he passes someone on the trail going the opposite way. Fickle bear.

Dear Auntie,

I've just had a tracking mail from Dark-Hole-Limited informing me to expect a package on behalf of a Mr T. Bear, esq. I appears to be a consignment of two dozen 2lb jars of coarse cut marmalade from Messrs Fortnum and Mason's of Picadilly, St. James's St. London W1A, and to be paid for Cash-on-Delivery.

Please advise.

I don't believe it. I've confiscated his phone and banned him from the Mac but he still persists. He's incorrigible. He's grounded til 3 March.
Please decline the delivery Simon unless you're homesick for marmalade
