This is the kit I use for all my trail riding including days out greenlaning, overnight wild camping trips, 10 days riding in the Pyrenees each year, messing about doing enduro stuff on the farm etc. The total cost comes in at around £2,700.
2000 Yamaha WR400F £1,300
Needed new wheels and rewiring, probably spent another £500 to get it trail ready. I've since spent more on a bigger tank, comfier seat and lowered suspension but these aren't necessary to get out there and ride.
Tyres either Metzeler MC360 for UK winter mud or IRC GP1 for Spanish rocks and roads, both less than £80 a set on ebay.
I don't just ride offroad so I try to buy simple kit that works for touring on any bike.
Bell MX9 Adventure helmet £150
Knox Venture armoured shirt (used) £50
Acerbis Enduro one jacket £80
Forcefield knee pads £60
Armoured Jeans £Free with MCN subscription
Altberg Hoggs boots £Birthday present!
Army waterproof trousers £20
Peter Storm waterproof cagoule £20

Army softie insulated jacket £20
Again, used for many adventures, not just motorcycle trips. I have a mountain of camping stuff but this is typical of what I'd take for a week trip in Spring/autumn.
Cumulus lightline 400 down sleeping bag £200, expensive but bought 6 years ago and used for many hiking, cycling and motorcycle adventures. An investment, but cheaper options are available!
Snugpak Bivvy bag £60
NATO/German army folding foam sleeping mat £8
Aquaquest 2.5x3m SilNylon tarp £60
Cookset is a mixture of home made bits and hobo stove or a cheap stick-stove. £50
Robens Geographic stool £20
Platypus 2l folding water bottle £13
If I don't want to sleep in the Bivvy I take a Wild Country Zephyros tent £170
LOMO 35l waterproof holdall £24
Molle Battle yolk £17 (search for Bernie Wright Molle on the Facebook group for more details)
Molle pouches for tool kit and tubes £30
ROK straps £15
There's other stuff like tool kit and food but I think this is the important stuff that means I can get out there and spend days on the trails. My choice of bike represents all my offroad riding needs and may not be ideal for others looking for something TET specific or those riding in areas with less challenging terrain.
