I've got the earlier version. I believe the chest and back protection is now lighter and more effectively vented. It needs to be! Mine is good, and it works, I've thumped down on some hard trails a few times. However, in hot weather it can be a bit much with an abrasion resistant jacket over the top. In the heat, and when touring, I wear a Klim Badlands. Essentially because it can keep me warm and dry as well as being well vented. Ok, the chest protector is thinner and the arm protection less secure, it's a compromise. I also use Forcefield knee tubes and Knox defender shorts. Both are good but the protection in the shorts is a squeeze to remove and replace.
Thats great Paul, sounds like its worth a try.
Thanks for the input. I'll be looking for knee protection soon as well!

My gear so far:
Scorpion EXO AT950 helmet (pretty great helmet with all the functions you can imagine for a good price. Nevertheless Ill think about changing to a lighter MX helmet)
Moisture wicking longsleeve
Fox Protector West (great price - I find it a bit too bulky tho)
Revit Sand 3 Jacket (instead of jersey when its cooler / rain)
Revit Sand 3 Gloves (they suck - neither waterproof nor warm)
Revit Sand 3 Trousers (can add long underpants if cold or rain layer if raining. Tho I dont like the knee protectors which are pretty loose since theyre in the trousers)
SIDI Crossfire 3 SRS

I just take it slow offroad, the Belgian en Dutch TET have a good amount of tarmac as well, so I do not think i need to wear as if i am doing Dakar:
- a merino base layer,
- fill all the pockets of the Klim Traverse suit with 3do protectors
- insulated jacket from Aldi or a ski pully in cold wheater, or (both in really cold wheater),
- AlpineStar Toucan boots
- Shoei Hornet helmet.
I have bad knees, so i need to support them with sleeves, braces are too bulky, i cannot sit on the bike comfortably.
Works for me
