The future is green!?

Let's start a conversation about using electric motorcycles on the TET for multiday trips with kit

I think it'd be a very short journey.

We had a charity ride a few weeks ago which was 200 kms total. One guy turned up on a Zero FX or some such.
He brought his charger(s), left the campsite at around 08.30 and came in pushing his bike at 23,30.

He ran out of juice 3 km short after recharging the batteries twice if I recall right.
It's a cracking piece of work but more a gimmick for the next 10 years.
The battery capacity needed (and affordable) just does not exist yet.

@ Ard, you're right... in a way. It's early days still. Range (and weight) are still issues.
Yet my journey of 2015, Belgium to Istanbul return on a Zero DS + Power Tank, proves otherwise. This summer I want to set off again, and test the opposite side of the spectrum, the e-bike/mopeds: the likes of Stealth, Delfast, Qulbix, LMX, Bultaco, etc. I might prove you wrong again and I hope so =°-]
Currently investigating. Will keep this thread posted of course.

The biggest problem, refueling now takes about a minute or 5. As soon as this possible with een electric bike, I woul d consider it adventure ready.
E bikes are great fun for trails/fields around the house...
