Re: Riding the E9 coastalpath between Liepaja and Windau?

Hi,
it is forbidden by law to go with the motorised vehicle on the beach or dunes in Latvia. There is a road along the coastline. Also there is old abandoned railroad line between Liepaja and Windau (Ventspils), which is usable as an option for off-road.

Re: Dirt / Road in Latvia?

It is almost 90 % gravel and dirt roads in Latvia TET track. Some sections are very sandy, some forest sections are very muddy after rain showers. A lot of long gravel roads.

Re: Cellphone coverage in Latvia?

The same as in Lithuania. Mostly there is good coverage, even with a good and fast 3G and 4G internet.

Re: Cellphone coverage in Lithuania

There will be no problems with coverage in Lithuania, it is almost everywhere. If only in some very remote place, near the borders, for some +/- 5 to 10 meters maybe connection will be poorer. But no, I am sure, that coverage is more better than in Germany. Never had any problems with that.

Re: TET: Romania/Serbia as a beginner

I was in Romania last year. So here will be couple of things what I can I suggest: If you are not so experienced in off-road (as you wrote), my advice is to not go alone in mountain TET sections. + if you have a bike loaded full with camping gear, then it can transform your ride in mountain sections...

Re: TET Romania on a big bike ..?

Hi Ramzz, Last August I was riding part of Romanian TET. I was there on my Tenere XTZ660 and my buddy was with Super Tenere 750. If you have riding skills, then mostly it is ok. But some parts of route was not passable, because the mountain road was washed by rain and had to find some other detour. ...

Re: From Mongolia to TET

Heey! I saw you Saturday arriving at the small ferry boat in Ligatne. I was one of those 18 enduro bikers, who left the ferry boat place. That was a huge group! Was it a KTM meeting? Just a Saturday's ride, with a different big enduro bikes. Used some TET sections and other local small forest roads.
